AN ACT
1 Amending Title 71 (State Government) of the Pennsylvania
2 Consolidated Statutes, further providing for cost-of-living
3 supplements.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Subsection (c) of section 5708 of Title 71, act
7 of November 25, 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the
8 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, is amended to read:
9 § 5708. Supplemental annuities.

11 (c) Supplement enacted after death of member.--No cost-of-
12 living supplement enacted after the death of the member shall be
13 payable to the beneficiary or survivor annuitant of such
14 deceased former State employee, except when the effective date
15 of the supplement shall predate the death of the member by
16 virtue of retroactivity of the supplement.

1 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall
2 be retroactive to July 1, 1979.
