A SUPPLEMENT
1 To the act of September 25, 1975 (P.L.296, No.95), entitled "An
2 act authorizing the indebtedness, with the approval of the
3 electors, of ten million dollars for loans to volunteer fire
4 companies, volunteer ambulance services and volunteer rescue
5 squads for the purpose of establishing or modernizing
6 facilities to house fire fighting apparatus equipment,
7 ambulances, and rescue vehicles, and for purchasing new fire
8 fighting apparatus equipment, ambulances, and rescue
9 vehicles, protective and communications equipment, and any
10 other accessory equipment necessary for the proper
11 performance of such organizations' duties," authorizing
12 additional indebtedness with the approval of the electors.
13 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
14 hereby enacts as follows:
15 Section 1. The question of incurring additional indebtedness
16 of $10,000,000 for loans to volunteer fire companies, volunteer
17 ambulance services and volunteer rescue squads for the purpose
18 of establishing or modernizing facilities to house firefighting
19 apparatus equipment, ambulances, and rescue vehicles, and for
20 purchasing new firefighting apparatus equipment, ambulances, and
21 rescue vehicles, protective and communications equipment, and
22 any other accessory equipment necessary for the proper
1 performance of such organizations' duties, shall be submitted to
2 the electors at the next primary, municipal or general election
3 following enactment of this act.
4 Section 2. The Secretary of the Commonwealth shall forthwith
5 certify the question to the county boards of election.
6 Section 3. The question shall be in substantially the
7 following form:
8 Do you favor the incurring of indebtedness of an
9 additional $10,000,000 for loans to volunteer fire companies,
10 volunteer ambulance services and volunteer rescue squads for
11 the purpose of establishing or modernizing facilities to
12 house firefighting apparatus equipment, ambulances, and
13 rescue vehicles, and for purchasing new firefighting
14 apparatus equipment, ambulances, and rescue vehicles,
15 protective and communications equipment, and any other
16 accessory equipment necessary for the proper performance of
17 such organizations' duties?
18 Section 4. The election shall be conducted in accordance
19 with the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the
20 "Pennsylvania Election Code," except that the time limits for
21 advertisement of notice of the election may be waived as to the
22 question.
23 Section 5. Proceeds of borrowing shall, pursuant to the act
24 of July 15, 1976 (P.L.1036, No.208), known as the "Volunteer
25 Fire Company, Ambulance Service and Rescue Squad Assistance
26 Act," be used through loans to volunteer fire companies,
27 volunteer ambulance services and volunteer rescue squads for the
28 purpose of establishing or modernizing facilities to house
29 firefighting apparatus equipment, ambulances, and rescue
30 vehicles, and for purchasing new firefighting apparatus

1 equipment, ambulances, and rescue vehicles, protective and
2 communications equipment, and any other accessory equipment
3 necessary for the proper performance of such organizations'
4 duties.
5 Section 6. This act shall take effect immediately.
