           RIEGER, McMONAGLE, OLIVER, PUCCIARELLI, BORSKI, DEAL, COHEN,
           SHUPNIK, CALTAGIRONE, COCHRAN, ARMSTRONG, HORGOS, MRKONIC,
           DUFFY, DAWIDA, MURPHY, ITKIN, TRELLO, OLASZ, MISCEVICH,

        AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON FEDERAL-STATE RELATIONS, HOUSE OF
           REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, MAY 11, 1981

                            In the House of Representatives, May 5, 1981

     1     Whereas, As a result of their service in the Vietnam
     2  Conflict, approximately 2,500 servicemen are unaccounted for and  <--
     3  AMERICAN SERVICEMEN ARE STILL UNACCOUNTED FOR BY THE INDO-        <--
     4  CHINESE GOVERNMENTS, SPECIFICALLY, VIETNAM, LAOS AND CAMBODIA,
     5  AND ARE missing in action; and
     6     Whereas, Since the end of the conflict, there have been
     7  several sightings of personnel listed as missing in action; and   <--
     8  APPROXIMATELY 1,000 SIGHTING REPORTS OF CAPTURED PERSONNEL, OF    <--
     9  WHICH 300 ARE BASED ON RELIABLE FIRST-HAND INFORMATION; AND
    10     Whereas, All these servicemen have served their country
    11  honorably and should not be forgotten; therefore be it
    12     Resolved (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly    <--
    13  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania      <--
    14  memorializes the President and Congress of the United States to


     1  take whatever actions may be necessary to ascertain the
     2  whereabouts AND EXPEDITE THE RELEASE of the servicemen missing    <--
     3  in action as a result of the Vietnam Conflict; and be it further
     4     Resolved, That Senators, Congressmen and the President are
     5  urged to show their sympathy for these missing in action Vietnam
     6  veterans by wearing a blue ribbon; and be it further
     7     Resolved, That copies of this resolution be sent to the
     8  President of the United States, to the presiding officers of
     9  both Houses of Congress and to each member of Congress from the
    10  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
