AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," further providing for election to
6 intermediate boards.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 910-A, act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30,
10 No.14), known as the "Public School Code of 1949," is amended by
11 adding a subsection to read:
12 Section 910-A. Intermediate Unit Board of Directors.--* * *
13 (h) At the next official meeting of the board of school
14 directors, the directors shall approve or reject by majority
15 vote the election of any of its members to the intermediate unit
16 board. If the election to the intermediate unit board is
17 rejected by the board of school directors, that member of the
18 board shall not be permitted to serve on the intermediate unit
19 board. The board of school directors shall then nominate another
1 member of the board to serve on the intermediate unit board and
2 shall elect one of the remaining members of the board to serve
3 on the intermediate unit board of directors. This subsection
4 shall not apply to an intermediate comprised of a single school
5 district.
6 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
