AN ACT
1 Authorizing municipalities to exempt certain senior citizens
2 from a municipal tax for trash or garbage collection.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. A municipality may exempt residents of the
6 municipality from a municipal tax for trash and garbage
7 collection if the tax is on real property used as the residence
8 of a person age 62 or over, or of a husband and wife, jointly,
9 and one is age 62 or over. If the tax is not listed separately
10 from other municipal taxes or real estate, the municipality
11 shall determine the amount imposed for trash and garbage
12 collection.
13 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
