AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 24, 1931 (P.L.1206, No.331), entitled
2 "An act concerning townships of the first class; amending,
3 revising, consolidating, and changing the law relating
4 thereto," changing the rates for mileage and per diem for
5 attendance of appointed township officers and employes at
6 conferences, institutes and schools.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Section 624, act of June 24, 1931 (P.L.1206,
10 No.331), known as "The First Class Township Code," reenacted and
11 amended May 27, 1949 (P.L.1955, No.569), and amended February
12 20, 1974 (P.L.85, No.20), is amended to read:
13 Section 624. Conferences, Institutes and Schools.--The
14 expenses which shall be limited to the registration fee, mileage
15 at the [rate of twelve cents (12¢)] maximum lawful rate as
16 permitted by the Internal Revenue Service for business deduction
17 purposes per circular mile, and per diem up to [thirty-five
18 dollars ($35)] sixty dollars ($60) per day, of elected or
19 appointed township officers and employes may be paid by the
1 township when authorized by the board of township commissioners
2 to attend conferences, institutes and schools in order to
3 discuss and resolve the various questions arising in the
4 discharge of the duties and functions of the respective officers
5 and employes, and to provide uniform, efficient and economical
6 methods of administering their township duties.
7 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
