AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," providing temporary financial aid to
6 school districts suffering a substantial reduction in
7 revenue.
8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
9 hereby enacts as follows:
10 Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
11 as the "Public School Code of 1949" is amended by adding a
12 section to read:
13 Section 2593. Temporary Assistance for Revenue Loss.--(a) A
14 school district which suffers a twenty (20%) per centum loss in
15 revenue in any one year due to the reassessment of one or more
16 properties located within the district shall be entitled to
17 temporary financial assistance in the amount of fifty (50%) per
18 centum of the loss for the first year and twenty-five (25%) per
19 centum of the loss for the following year.
20 (b) Assistance under this section shall be funded by moneys
1 as shall be from time to time appropriated by the General
2 Assembly for this purpose.
3 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
