                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, requiring lighted headlights when it is raining.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  Section 4302 of Title 75, act of November 25,
     6  1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes, is amended to read:
     8  § 4302.  Period for requiring lighted lamps.
     9     Every vehicle upon a highway at any time between sunset and
    10  sunrise, during periods of rain when the windshield wipers must
    11  be used, and at any other time when, due to insufficient light
    12  or unfavorable atmospheric conditions, persons and vehicles on
    13  the highway are not clearly discernible from a distance of 1000
    14  feet ahead shall display lighted head and other lamps and
    15  illuminating devices as required under this chapter for
    16  different classes of vehicles, subject to exceptions with
    17  respect to parked vehicles. Stop lights, turn signals and other


     1  signaling devices shall be lighted as prescribed in this title.
     2     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
