        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON FEDERAL-STATE RELATIONS,
           FEBRUARY 5, 1980

                       In the House of Representatives, February 4, 1980

     1     WHEREAS, Inflation has severely diminished the buying power
     2  of persons on fixed income; and
     3     WHEREAS, Relief from taxation on fixed incomes like pensions
     4  would be of great assistance to many senior citizens and
     5  disabled people; therefore be it
     6     RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly
     7  of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania urge the Congress and
     8  President of the United States to exclude pensions from the
     9  Federal Income Tax; and be it further
    10     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be sent to the
    11  presiding officer of each House of the Congress of the United
    12  States, to each Senator and Representative from Pennsylvania in
    13  the Congress of the United States and to the President, Jimmy
    14  Carter.
