In the House of Representatives, February 6, 1979
1 WHEREAS, The Commonwealth Compensation Commission was created
2 by the act of the Legislature approved June 29, 1976 (Act No.
3 111); and
4 WHEREAS, Pursuant to the authority granted by Act No. 111 of
5 1976, the Commonwealth Compensation Commission has submitted a
6 report dated January 30, 1979 recommending compensation
7 increases for Justices, Judges, Legislative Officers, and
8 members of the General Assembly to take effect during the
9 current fiscal year; and
10 WHEREAS, The act of June 29, 1976 (No. 111), provides that
11 the report of the Commonwealth Compensation Commission ".....
12 shall take effect ...... unless within thirty (30) days
13 following the date of submission thereof, the General Assembly
14 shall, by concurrent resolution, reject the said report, in
15 whole or in part,....."; therefore be it
16 RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the report of the
17 Commonwealth Compensation Commission, dated January 30, 1979, is
18 hereby rejected; and be it further: <--
1 TO THE EXTENT THAT IT PROVIDES THAT ANY OF THE INCREASED <-- 2 RATES OF COMPENSATION RECOMMENDED THEREIN BECOME EFFECTIVE PRIOR 3 TO DECEMBER 1, 1980 AND TO THE EXTENT THAT IT PROVIDES 4 COMPENSATION INCREASES FOR JUSTICES AND JUDGES WHICH ARE IN 5 EXCESS OF 8% FOR THE FIRST PERMISSIBLE YEAR AND 7% FOR THE 6 SECOND PERMISSIBLE YEAR; AND BE IT FURTHER 7 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the 8 Commonwealth Compensation Commission.
