AN ACT 1 Amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), entitled 2 "An act concerning game and other wild birds and wild 3 animals; and amending, revising, consolidating, and changing 4 the law relating thereto," granting police powers to game 5 protectors in certain circumstances and making a repeal. 6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 7 hereby enacts as follows: 8 Section 1. Section 214, act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, 9 No.316), known as "The Game Law," is amended by adding clauses 10 to read: 11 Section 214. Powers of Members of Commission, Director, and 12 Game Protectors.--Each member of the commission, the director, 13 and each of its lawfully qualified representatives shall have 14 the power: 15 * * * 16 (o) To make arrests without warrant for all violations of 17 any law which they may witness, and to serve and execute 18 warrants issued by the proper authorities: Provided, however, 19 That in cases of offenses for violation of any of the provisions
1 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes (relating 2 to vehicles), the power to make arrests without warrant shall be 3 limited to cases where the offense is designated a felony or a 4 misdemeanor, or in cases causing or contributing to an accident 5 resulting in injury or death to any person. 6 (p) To have all the powers and prerogatives conferred by law 7 upon members of the police force of cities of the first class. 8 (q) To have all the powers and prerogatives conferred by law 9 upon constables of the Commonwealth. 10 (r) To serve subpoenas issued for any examination, 11 investigation or trial had pursuant to any law of the 12 Commonwealth. 13 Section 2. The powers granted pursuant to clauses (o), (p), 14 (q) and (r) of section 214 of "The Game Law," shall be exercised 15 only by the Executive Director of the Game Commission and by 16 full-time game protectors. 17 Section 3. Section 2605, act of April 9, 1929 (P.L.177, 18 No.175), known as "The Administrative Code of 1929," is 19 repealed. 20 Section 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
