AN ACT
1 Amending the act of February 1, 1966 (1965 P.L.1656, No.581),
2 entitled "An act concerning boroughs, and revising, amending
3 and consolidating the law relating to boroughs," further
4 providing for expenses.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 704, act of February 1, 1966 (1965
8 P.L.1656, No.581), known as "The Borough Code," added July 9,
9 1976 (P.L.934, No.179), is amended to read:
10 Section 704. Associations and Organizations for Mayors.--Any
11 mayor may join a mayors' association and borough council shall
12 pay reasonable dues, not to exceed twenty-five dollars ($25), as
13 may be fixed by the association for each mayor belonging to that
14 association. The mayor may attend the annual meeting of the
15 association, which shall be held in the Commonwealth in
16 accordance with the procedure adopted by the association. Each
17 mayor shall be allowed for expenses incurred in attending the
18 meeting an amount not exceeding [fifty dollars ($50)] seventy-
1 five dollars ($75) per day, together with [twelve cents (12¢)
2 per mile in] mileage going to and returning from the meeting.
3 The time spent in attending said meeting shall not be more than
4 four days, including time in traveling to and from the meeting.
5 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
