AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further defining "bus."
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The definition of "bus" in section 102 of Title
6 75, act of November 25, 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the
7 Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, is amended to read:
8 § 102. Definitions.
9 Subject to additional definitions contained in subsequent
10 provisions of this title which are applicable to specific
11 provisions of this title, the following words and phrases when
12 used in this title shall have, unless the context clearly
13 indicates otherwise, the meanings given to them in this section:

15 "Bus." A motor vehicle designed for carrying more than ten
16 passengers, exclusive of the driver, and used for the
17 transportation of persons and [a] any other motor vehicle[,
1 other than a taxicab, designed and] used for the transportation
2 of persons for compensation. The term does not include a taxicab
3 or a vehicle used in a carpool or a vehicle owned by a nonprofit
4 association for senior citizens or used for church-related
5 purposes designed to carry less than l7 passengers as defined in
6 department regulations.

8 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
