                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of July 1, 1978 (P.L.700, No.124), entitled "An
     2     act enumerating certain fees and charges to be imposed for
     3     activities regulated by the Bureau of Professional and
     4     Occupational Affairs of the Department of State, providing
     5     for the appointment and term of Office of the Commissioner of
     6     Professional and Occupational Affairs, creating the
     7     Professional Licensure Augmentation Account and providing for
     8     its administration and making certain repeals," further
     9     providing for collection of fees.

    10     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    11  hereby enacts as follows:
    12     Section 1.  Section 224, act of July 1, 1978 (P.L.700,
    13  No.124), known as the "Bureau of Professional and Occupational
    14  Affairs Fee Act," is amended to read:
    15  Section 224.  Collection.
    16     (a)  The Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs
    17  shall collect the fees for which this act provides. However,
    18  nothing in this act shall prevent the collection of fees by the
    19  bureau which are otherwise authorized and which are not
    20  inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
    21     (b)  The fees provided for by this act shall be collected

     1  before a license or a renewal of a license is sent to the
     2  applicant.
     3     (c)  No additional charge or fee shall be levied or collected
     4  for issuance of a personal card indicating the holder thereof is
     5  licensed in an occupation or profession for which a fee is paid
     6  pursuant to this act.
     7     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
