AN ACT
1 Authorizing the Department of General Services with the approval
2 of the Department of Environmental Resources to grant an
3 easement to the United States Steel Company CORPORATION to <--
4 build a pile wall and a cell in the Monongahela River in
5 Rankin Township BOROUGH, Allegheny County. <--
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. The Department of General Services with the
9 approval of the Department of Environmental Resources and the
10 Governor is hereby authorized to grant to the United States
11 Steel Company CORPORATION, its successors and assigns, an <--
12 easement to build and maintain in the Monongahela River in
13 Rankin Township BOROUGH, Allegheny County, a steel sheet <--
14 circular cell approximately 17 feet in diameter, protruding
15 above the water approximately 20 feet above the highwater mark
16 and placed on piling extending to bed rock. The cell shall be in
17 line with six existing cells located at milepost 9.5 from the
18 mouth of the river at Rankin Borough. The easement shall include
19 the right to build at the same location as the cells, a sheet
1 pile wall as a debris deflector extending from lands of United
2 States Steel Company CORPORATION at approximately an angle of 45 <--
3 degrees from the shoreline to an existing cell.
4 Section 2. The United States Steel Company CORPORATION shall <--
5 provide metes and bounds description of the easement.
6 Section 3. The conveyance of the easement shall be approved
7 by the Department of Justice and shall be executed by the
8 Secretary of General Services in the name of the Commonwealth.
9 Section 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
