AN ACT
1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2 act relating to the public school system, including certain
3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5 laws relating thereto," removing the functions of the Board
6 of State Colleges and University Directors insofar as they
7 relate to the choosing of State College and University
8 presidents.
9 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
10 hereby enacts as follows:
11 Section 1. Clause (6) of section 2003.2 and clause (11) of
12 section 2003.3, act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as
13 the "Public School Code of 1949," are repealed.
14 Section 2. Clause (2) of section 2008.2 and clause (5) of
15 section 2008.3 of the act, added February 17, 1970 (P.L.24,
16 No.13), are amended to read:
17 Section 2008.2. Duties of Boards of Trustees of the Several
18 State Colleges.--The Board of Trustees of each of the several
19 State Colleges shall have the powers and its duties shall be:

21 (2) To recommend to the Governor [through the Board of State
1 College and University Directors] the appointment of a
2 president.

4 Section 2008.3. Duties of the Boards of Trustees of the
5 Several State Universities.--The Board of Trustees of each State
6 University shall have the powers and its duties shall be to:

8 (5) To recommend to the Governor [through the Board of State
9 College and University Directors] the appointment of a
10 president.

12 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
