                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of December 12, 1959 (P.L.1779, No.673),
     2     entitled, as amended, "An act relating to fish, frogs,
     3     tadpoles and turtles; and amending, revising, consolidating
     4     and changing the law relating to fish in the inland waters
     5     and the boundary lakes and boundary rivers of the
     6     Commonwealth," clarifying the references in the act relating
     7     to the application of penalties dealing with fishing
     8     licenses.

     9     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    10  hereby enacts as follows:
    11     Section 1.  Section 228, act of December 12, 1959 (P.L.1779,
    12  No.673), known as "The Fish Law of 1959," is amended to read:
    13     Section 228.  Penalty; Revocation of Licenses; Period of
    14  Revocation.--Any person violating any provisions of this
    15  [article] chapter shall, on conviction in the manner provided in
    16  chapter 14 of this act, be sentenced for each offense to pay a
    17  fine of twenty-five dollars ($25.00). It shall be unlawful for
    18  any person to obtain or use a fishing license during the period
    19  for which his license was revoked, and any person violating this
    20  provision shall be subject to the penalty provided in this


     1  section. In addition to any penalty provided for any violation
     2  of this [act] chapter, the fishing license of any person
     3  convicted or signing an acknowledgment, as hereinafter provided,
     4  shall be void, and the license shall be surrendered by such
     5  person and immediately sent by the court making the conviction
     6  or the officer taking the acknowledgment to the Commission at
     7  Harrisburg. In such cases, and in cases where a person has been
     8  convicted of a violation of this [act] chapter, who does not
     9  possess a fishing license, the Commission shall notify him of
    10  the time during which he shall not be eligible to possess a
    11  fishing license, and during which period he may not apply for
    12  such a license but no such period shall exceed three years.
    13     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
