                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, adding provisions relating to escape.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5     Section 1.  Subsection (a) of section 5121 of Title 18, act
     6  of November 25, 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the
     7  Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, is amended to read:
     8  § 5121.  Escape.
     9     (a)  Escape.--A person commits an offense if he:
    10         (1)   unlawfully removes himself from official detention;
    11     [or fails to return to official detention following temporary
    12     leave granted for a specific purpose or limited period.]
    13         (2)  fails to report to the assigned place of employment,
    14     training, education or other authorized destination; or
    15         (3)  fails to return to official detention following
    16     temporary leave granted for a specific purpose or limited
    17     period.

     1     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
