SENATOR CIANFRANI, APPROPRIATIONS, AS AMENDED, JUNE 20, 1977
AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the State Treasurer for the purpose
2 of paying salaries and wages of State officers and employees
3 and other ordinary and general expenses in the interim
4 between June 30, 1977 and October AUGUST 1, 1977, and for the <--
5 payment of bills incurred and remaining unpaid at the close
6 of the fiscal year ending June 30, 1977.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows.
9 Section 1. The sum of $582,646,000 $160,016,000, or as much <--
10 thereof as may be necessary, is hereby specifically appropriated
11 to the State Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for
12 the purpose of paying the salaries and wages of the officers and
13 employees and other ordinary and general expenses of the State
14 government in the interim between June 30, 1977 and October <--
15 AUGUST 1, 1977, and for the payment of bills incurred and <--
16 remaining unpaid at the close of the fiscal year ending June 30,
17 1977. The funds provided by this act may be used for all
18 preferred appropriations of 1976-1977 but shall not be used for
19 payment of cash grants or medical assistance, for payment of <--
20 more than one half of the expenses and grants under the
1 Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, or for payment
2 of appropriations to charitable or educational institutions not
3 under the absolute control of the Commonwealth.
4 Section 2. Payments out of the appropriation of this act
5 shall be made by the State Treasurer upon requisitions by the
6 several departments, boards, commissions or officers in the same
7 manner as payments are ordinarily made.
8 Section 3. All amounts paid by the State Treasurer in
9 accordance with this act shall be charged against the
10 appropriations made for the salaries and wages of the officers
11 and employees and other ordinary and general expenses of the
12 State government in the General Appropriation Act and other
13 appropriation acts of 1976 and 1977.
14 Section 4. The funds appropriated in section 1 shall be used
15 solely for providing for the programs in existence during the
16 fiscal year 1976-1977, which programs shall be funded at no more
17 than 25% of the total appropriations contained in Senate Bill
18 No.770, Printer's No.823, Session of 1977.
19 Section 5. In addition to the amount appropriated by this
20 act, all moneys received from any other source, except from the
21 Federal Government, as contributions to or payments for the
22 programs provided herein shall be paid into the General Fund to
23 the appropriation for the purposes and programs intended.
24 Section 6. This act shall take effect immediately.
