                                     AN ACT

     1  Authorizing the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission,
     2     with the approval of the Governor, to transfer certain
     3     Project 70 lands in Lancaster County in exchange for a parcel
     4     of land belonging to the Fulton Township Supervisors.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Pursuant to the requirements of subsection (b) of
     8  section 20, act of June 22, 1964 (Sp. Sess., P.L. 131, No.8),
     9  known as the "Project 70 Land Acquisition and Borrowing Act,"
    10  the General Assembly authorizes the Pennsylvania Historical and
    11  Museum Commission with the approval of the Governor, to transfer
    12  land at the Robert Fulton Birthplace, Fulton Township, Lancaster
    13  County to the Fulton Township Supervisors in exchange for a
    14  parcel of land belonging to the Fulton Township Supervisors.
    15     The land transferred by the Pennsylvania Historical and
    16  Museum Commission shall be free of restrictions on use and
    17  alienation prescribed by section 20 of the "Project 70 Land
    18  Acquisition and Borrowing Act," upon:
    19         (1)  substitution of the Project 70 land for a parcel of


     1     land belonging to the Fulton Township Supervisors, the value
     2     of one being equal to the other; and
     3         (2)  the execution and filing of a document of release
     4     citing such transfer and release of the land transferred by
     5     the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission from the
     6     restrictions on use and alienation prescribed by subsection
     7     (b) of section 20 of said act.
     8     The document of release in such cases shall, upon such
     9  transfer, be prepared by the Attorney General and filed in the
    10  office of the recorder of deeds of the county in which the said
    11  land is located.
    12     Section 2.  The land to be transferred by the Pennsylvania
    13  Historical and Museum Commission with the approval of the
    14  Governor to the Fulton Township Supervisors is more particularly
    15  described as follows:
    16                        PROJECT DESCRIPTION
    17     Beginning at a point on the western right-of-way line of U.S.
    18  Route 222, said point being located a distance of 67.11 feet
    19  south of the south 63 degrees 57 minutes 21 seconds east, 800.25
    20  feet line of lands of the Robert Fulton Birthplace; thence along
    21  the western right-of-way line of U.S. Route 222, south 32
    22  degrees 01 minutes 43 seconds west, a distance of 110.00 feet to
    23  a point; in a line curving to the left, having a radius of 30.00
    24  feet, an arc distance of 47.12 feet, a chord bearing of north 12
    25  degrees 58 minutes 17 seconds west, and a chord distance of
    26  42.43 feet to a point; in a line curving to the left, having a
    27  radius of 175.00 feet, an arc length of 71.35 feet, a chord
    28  bearing of north 69 degrees 39 minutes 08 seconds west, and a
    29  chord distance of 70.86 feet to a stake; thence north 81 degrees
    30  20 minutes 00 seconds west, a distance of 373.83 feet to a

     1  point; in a line curving to the right, having a radius of 225.00
     2  feet, an arc length of 119.51 feet, a chord bearing of north 66
     3  degrees 06 minutes 59 seconds west, and a chord distance of
     4  118.11 feet to a point; thence north 50 degrees 53 minutes 58
     5  seconds west, a distance of 176.17 feet to a point; thence north
     6  45 degrees 55 minutes 28 seconds west, a distance of 232.31 feet
     7  to a point; the western property line of the Robert Fulton
     8  Birthplace; thence extending along said property line and
     9  crossing an iron pin a distance of 7.76 feet north of the last
    10  described point, north 28 degrees 15 minutes 40 seconds east, a
    11  distance of 17.00 feet to a point; thence continuing along said
    12  property line, south 49 degrees 52 minutes 14 seconds east, a
    13  distance of 233.73 feet to a point; thence continuing along said
    14  property line and crossing an iron pin a distance of 10.56 feet
    15  north of the last described point north 24 degrees 14 minutes 40
    16  seconds east, a distance of 17.94 feet to a point; thence south
    17  50 degrees 53 minutes 58 seconds east, a distance of 181.72 feet
    18  to a point; in a line curving to the left, having a radius of
    19  175.00 feet, an arc length of 92.96 feet, a chord bearing of
    20  south 66 degrees 06 minutes 59 seconds east, and a chord
    21  distance of 91.87 feet to a point; south 81 degrees 20 minutes
    22  00 seconds east, a distance of 373.83 feet to a point; in a line
    23  curving to the right, having a radius of 225.00 feet, an arc
    24  length of 91.74 feet, a chord bearing of south 69 degrees 39
    25  minutes 08 seconds east, and a chord distance of 91.11 feet to a
    26  point; in a line curving to the left, having a radius of 30.00
    27  feet, an arc length of 47.12 feet, a chord bearing of north 77
    28  degrees 01 minutes 43 seconds east, and a chord distance of
    29  42.43 feet to the place of beginning, containing 1.022 acres.
    30     Being part of a larger tract acquired by the Pennsylvania

     1  Historical and Museum Commission by the Declaration of Taking
     2  filed to No.94 August Term 1965, Court of Common Pleas of
     3  Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, 25 August 1965.
     4     Section 3.  The land to be transferred by the Fulton Township
     5  Supervisors to the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission
     6  in exchange for the land described in section 2 is more
     7  particularly described as follows:
     8     A portion of the present Township Road T-468 measuring 471
     9  feet in length extending from the right-of-way line of U.S.
    10  Route 222 to a point where it intersects the new township right-
    11  of-way, and 33 feet in width containing approximately 0.4089
    12  acres.
    13     Section 4.  (a)  The deed of conveyance of the land
    14  transferred by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission
    15  to the Fulton Township Supervisors shall be approved by the
    16  Department of Justice and shall be executed by the Pennsylvania
    17  Historical and Museum Commission in the name of the Commonwealth
    18  of Pennsylvania.
    19     (b)  The title to the parcel of land transferred by the
    20  Fulton Township Supervisors to the Pennsylvania Historical and
    21  Museum Commission shall be approved by the Department of Justice
    22  before its acceptance.
    23     Section 5.  This act shall take effect immediately.
