           ROMANELLI, SCANLON, SCHAEFER, SMITH, ZEMPRELLI, SWEENEY AND
           REIBMAN, JANUARY 4, 1977

        AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON URBAN AFFAIRS, HOUSE OF
           REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, SEPTEMBER 28, 1977

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of July 28, 1953 (P.L.723, No.230), entitled,
     2     as amended, "An act relating to counties of the second class
     3     and second class A; amending, revising, consolidating and
     4     changing the laws relating thereto," requiring mandatory
     5     audits of the minor judiciary.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  The act of July 28, 1953 (P.L.723, No.230), known
     9  as the "Second Class County Code," is amended by adding a
    10  section to read:
    11     Section 1922.1.  Audit of Accounts of Minor Judiciary.--The
    12  controller shall annually audit the accounts of every alderman,
    13  magistrate or justice of the peace within the county and report
    14  the results of such audits to the county commissioners, the
    15  Auditor General, THE PENNSYLVANIA SUPREME COURT ADMINISTRATOR'S   <--
    16  OFFICE and to the governing body of each political subdivision
    17  which is entitled or has a right to receive any moneys or funds
    18  collected by any such alderman, magistrate or justice of the

     1  peace.
     2     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
