In the House of Representatives, April 20, 1977 1 WHEREAS, The emergency crisis of 1977 with the attendant 2 energy shortage emphasize the stark realities of the dwindling 3 raw material resources of our great Nation; and 4 WHEREAS, The citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 annually seek to dispose tons of refuse containing vast amounts 6 of economically recoverable metals and glass and waste which can 7 be successfully used as a valuable fuel resource; and 8 WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the House of Representatives to 9 protect the industrial, social and economic base of the citizens 10 of this Commonwealth by promoting the most efficient and least 11 wasteful method of using and reusing the raw material resources 12 of this Nation for the benefit of all Pennsylvanians; now 13 therefore be it 14 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives direct the Joint 15 Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation 16 Committee to study all areas related to resource recovery and to 17 recommend legislation beneficial to the Commonwealth of
1 Pennsylvania; and be it further 2 RESOLVED, That all levels of government cooperate and assist 3 the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and 4 Conservation Committee in its study; and be it further 5 RESOLVED, That the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution 6 Control and Conservation Committee report as soon as possible 7 its findings and recommendations to the House of Representatives 8 with drafts of legislation necessary to carry the 9 recommendations into effect.
