HOUSE RESOLUTION

                         In the House of Representatives, April 18, 1977


     1     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the General
     2  Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, That the Committee
     3  on Judiciary is hereby authorized to inquire into and concerning
     4  the official conduct of Frederick Fiegenberg, Workman's
     5  Compensation Referee, touching his conduct in regard to matters
     6  mentioned in a petition which has been presented to the House,
     7  and especially whether the said Frederick Fiegenberg has been
     8  guilty of any impeachable offense, and to report to the House
     9  the conclusions of the committee in respect thereto with its
    10  appropriate recommendations; and be it further
    11     RESOLVED, That the Committee on Judiciary is hereby
    12  authorized and empowered to send for persons and papers, to
    13  subpoena witnesses, to administer oaths to said witnesses, to
    14  take testimony, to employ a clerk, stenographer or
    15  stenographers, agents, investigators and attorneys, if
    16  necessary; and to appoint a sub-committee from among their
    17  number by appointment of the chairman thereof, whenever it may


     1  be necessary or expedient to take testimony for the use of the
     2  said committee. And the said sub-committee while so employed
     3  shall have the same powers in respect to obtaining testimony as
     4  are herein given to said Committee on Judiciary, with a
     5  sergeant-at-arms, by himself or deputy, who shall serve the
     6  process of said committee and sub-committee and execute its
     7  orders, and shall attend the sittings of the same as ordered and
     8  directed thereby, and the said committee and sub-committee are
     9  authorized to sit during the sessions of this House; and the
    10  Speaker of the House shall have authority to sign and the clerk
    11  to attest subpoenas for any witness or witnesses; and the
    12  expenses of this investigation shall be paid out of the
    13  contingent fund of the House.
