AN ACT
1 Authorizing the Department of General Services with the approval
2 of the Department of Environmental Resources to grant an
3 easement to the Armstrong Cork Company to construct, use,
4 renew, maintain and repair a treated effluent discharge pipe
5 in the Susquehanna River in East Donegal Township, Lancaster
6 County.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. The Department of General Services with the
10 approval of the Department of Environmental Resources and the
11 Governor is hereby authorized to grant to the Armstrong Cork
12 Company, its successors and assigns, an easement to construct,
13 use, renew, maintain and repair a discharge pipe in the
14 Susquehanna River, East Donegal Township, Lancaster County, such
15 easement being more particularly described as follows:
16 Beginning at a point on the boundary line between lands of
17 Armstrong Cork Company and lands of Consolidated Rail Corp.,
18 said point being the intersection of said boundary line with an
19 existing 4-inch discharge pipe leading from lands of Armstrong
20 Cork Company to a point of discharge in the Susquehanna River;
1 thence extending along the route of said existing discharge
2 pipe, the following six (6) courses and distances: (1) south 02
3 degrees 18 minutes 40 seconds east, a distance of 6.24 feet to a
4 point; (2) south 01 degree 31 minutes 10 seconds west a distance
5 of 96.65 feet to a point; (3) south 00 degrees 01 minute 30
6 seconds west, a distance of 91.38 feet to a point; (4) south 03
7 degrees 13 minutes 30 seconds west, a distance of 86.33 feet to
8 a point; (5) south 03 degrees 43 minutes 15 seconds west, a
9 distance of 18.47 feet to a point; and (6) south 04 degrees 54
10 minutes 00 seconds west, a distance of 204.8 feet to a point on
11 the left bank of the Susquehanna River, said point being the
12 true point of beginning for the easement herein described;
13 thence south 85 degrees 06 minutes 00 seconds east, a distance
14 of 5.0 feet to a point; thence south 04 degrees 54 minutes 00
15 seconds west, a distance of 390.0 feet to a point; thence north
16 85 degrees 06 minutes 00 seconds west, a distance of 10.0 feet
17 to a point; thence north 04 degrees 54 minutes 00 seconds east,
18 a distance of 390.0 feet to a point; thence south 85 degrees 06
19 minutes 00 seconds east, a distance of 5.0 feet to the place of
20 beginning for the easement herein described.
21 Said easement containing an area of 3,900.0 square feet.
22 Section 2. The conveyance of the easement shall be approved
23 by the Department of Justice and shall be executed by the
24 Secretary of General Services in the name of the Commonwealth.
25 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
