AN ACT 1 Authorizing the Department of General Services, with the 2 approval of the Department of Environmental Resources, to 3 sell and convey to the City of Philadelphia certain lands 4 within the bed of the Delaware River in the Fifth Ward of the 5 City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 7 hereby enacts as follows: 8 Section 1. The Department of General Services, with the 9 concurrence of the Department of Environmental Resources, acting 10 on behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, for a 11 consideration of $1, is hereby authorized to convey in fee to 12 the City of Philadelphia lands within the bed of the Delaware 13 River in the City of Philadelphia, lying between the Bulkhead 14 and Pierhead Lines of the Delaware River, as approved by the 15 United States War Department on September 10, 1940, and between 16 a point north of the north line of Market Street produced, and a 17 point north of the north line of Cherry Street produced, in the 18 Fifth Ward of the City of Philadelphia, containing 11.0853 19 acres, more or less, and more fully described as follows:
1 All that certain tract of parcel of land situate in the Fifth 2 Ward of the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as described as 3 follows: 4 Beginning at a point on the easterly side of Delaware Avenue 5 (variable width), also the Bulkhead Line as established by the 6 Secretary of War on September 10, 1940, located north 14 degrees 7 03 minutes 50 seconds east at the distance of 147 feet 0 inches 8 from an angle point, which angle point is also the point of 9 intersection of the said easterly side of Delaware Avenue with 10 the northerly side of Market Street (100 feet wide) produced; 11 thence extending north 14 degrees 03 minutes 50 seconds east 12 along the said easterly side of Delaware Avenue, also the said 13 Bulkhead Line, the distance of 856 feet 0 3/4 inches to a point; 14 thence south 79 degrees 49 minutes 31 seconds east the distance 15 of 534 feet 7 1/2 inches to a point on the Pierhead Line as 16 established by the Secretary of War on September 10, 1940; 17 thence extending southwardly along the said Pierhead Line the 18 following courses and distances: (1) south 14 degrees 51 minutes 19 14 seconds west 332 feet 10 1/2 inches to a point; (2) south 11 20 degrees 13 minutes 56 seconds west 579 feet 10 1/4 inches to a 21 point; thence north 80 degrees 06 minutes 20 seconds west 371 22 feet 11 3/8 inches to a point; thence north 09 degrees 53 23 minutes 40 seconds east the distance of 60 feet 1 5/8 inches to 24 a point; thence north 80 degrees 06 minutes 20 seconds west the 25 distance of 182 feet 7 3/8 inches to a point on the easterly 26 side of Delaware Avenue, also the said Bulkhead Line, the first 27 mentioned point and place of beginning. Containing an area of 28 11.0853 acres, more or less. 29 Section 2. The deed of conveyance hereby contemplated shall 30 be approved by the Department of Justice and shall be executed 19780H2492B3232 - 2 -
