        AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON LABOR RELATIONS, HOUSE OF
           REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, MAY 31, 1978

                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of July 14, 1961 (P.L.637, No.329), entitled
     2     "An act relating to the payment of wages or compensation for
     3     labor or services; providing for regular pay days; conferring
     4     powers and duties upon the Department of Labor and Industry,
     5     including powers and duties with respect to the civil
     6     collection of wages; providing civil and criminal penalties
     7     for violations of the act; providing for their collection and
     8     disposition and providing for additional civil damages,"
     9     requiring certain employers to furnish certain information
    10     concerning computation of wages at time of payment.

    11     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    12  hereby enacts as follows:
    13     Section 1.  The act of July 14, 1961 (P.L.637, No.329), known
    14  as the "Wage Payment and Collection Law," is amended by adding a
    15  section to read:
    16     Section 4.1.  Computation of Wages by Railroads.--
    17     (a)  Every common carrier by railroad shall furnish to each
    18  of its employes at the time of payment a separate listing of
    19  each daily wage and how it was computed.
    20     (b)  The department shall enforce the provisions of            <--
    21  subsection (a) and shall issue rules and regulations which shall  <--

     1  provide for the imposition of civil penalties which may not
     2  exceed one hundred dollars ($100) per employe per month. TO       <--
     3  CARRY OUT THE INTENT OF SUBSECTION (A) AND PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR
     4  VIOLATION THEREOF, NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200) PER
     5  EMPLOYE PER MONTH.
     6     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
