                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of August 21, 1953 (P.L.1273, No.361), entitled
     2     "An act to regulate the business of private detectives,
     3     investigators and watch, guard, or patrol agencies, and the
     4     licensing thereof in each county; providing penalties,"
     5     providing criminal penalties for engaging in the business of
     6     private detective without first obtaining a license.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  The act of August 21, 1953 (P.L.1273, No.361),
    10  known as "The Private Detective Act of 1953," is amended by
    11  adding a section to read:
    12     Section 16.1.  Penalty for Unlicensed Acts.--Any person in
    13  violation of the provisions of section 3(a) by reason of
    14  engaging in the private detective business without a license,
    15  shall upon conviction thereof, be guilty of a misdemeanor of the
    16  third degree.
    17     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
