AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for the operation of traffic
3 control devices in school zones.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Subsection (b) of section 3365, act of November
7 25, 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes, is amended to read:
9 § 3365. Special speed limitations.

11 (b) School zones.--When passing a school zone as defined and
12 established under regulations of the department, no person shall
13 drive a vehicle at a speed greater than that established for the
14 particular school zone. An official traffic-control device shall
15 indicate the beginning and end of each school zone to traffic
16 approaching in each direction. Such traffic-control devices
17 shall not be operated on days when school is not in session.
18 Establishment of a school zone, including its location, hours of
19 operation and speed limit, shall be approved by the department.

2 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
