AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing point credit for donating blood.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 1537 of Title 75, act of November 25,
6 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes, is amended by adding a subsection to read:
8 § 1537. Removal of points.

10 (c) Credit for donating blood.--Any driver with points
11 recorded against his record who makes a donation, or has someone
12 on his behalf make a donation, of one pint or more of blood to a
13 hospital, blood bank or any other institution or organization
14 authorized to receive blood donations shall have two points, or
15 one point if there is only one point on his record, removed from
16 his record. The driver shall obtain a receipt, and the hospital,
17 blood bank, institution or organization receiving the blood
18 shall upon the request of the driver promptly notify the
1 department of the driver's name, address, date of birth,
2 operator's number and the date and place of the donation. This
3 privilege may be exercised, for the purpose of the removal of
4 points, only one time in a 12-month period.
5 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
