HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, SEPTEMBER 26, 1977
AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Trustees of the University of
2 Pennsylvania.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The following sums, or as much thereof as may be
6 necessary, are hereby specifically appropriated to the Trustees
7 of the University of Pennsylvania for the fiscal year July 1,
8 1977 to June 30, 1978, for the purposes and in the amounts as
9 shown:
10 (1) For instruction excluding
11 Veterinary Medicine Programs and Doctor
12 of Medicine...................................$7,063,000
13 (2) For student aid .............................. 3,374,000
14 (3) For instruction in Veterinary
15 Medicine Programs only........................ 3,800,000 <--
16 3,772,000
17 (4) For instruction - Doctor of Medicine only..... 2,882,000
18 (5) For dental clinics............................ 600,000
1 Section 2. Payments to the University of Pennsylvania on
2 account of the appropriations for all items provided in section
3 1, except Doctor of Medicine only, shall be made on the basis of
4 net costs during the fiscal year. Payments for instruction,
5 Doctor of Medicine only, shall be made on the basis of full-time
6 student enrollment at the rate of $4,400 per student.
7 Section 3. The university shall provide such information and
8 in such form and manner as the Department of Education may
9 prescribe.
10 Section 4. The University of Pennsylvania shall reports its
11 revenues and expenditures and present its financial statements
12 as required under the provisions of this act in accordance with
13 generally accepted accounting principles and procedures for
14 educational institutions as set forth in the "Higher Education
15 Finance Manual of 1975," without exception.
16 Section 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 1977.
