AN ACT
1 Imposing a limitation on the powers of the judges of the courts
2 of common pleas to control the political activities of
3 certain court related employees.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. No judge of any court of common pleas shall have
7 the power to control, restrict or prohibit the political
8 activities of a court criers, tipstaves, official court
9 stenographers and interpreters and other court room employees.
10 Section 2. The provisions of this act shall apply to all
11 counties throughout the Commonwealth including any county
12 operating under a home rule charter.
13 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately and be
14 retroactive to January 1, 1977.
