                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled
     2     "An act relating to counties of the third, fourth, fifth,
     3     sixth, seventh and eighth classes; amending, revising,
     4     consolidating and changing the laws relating thereto," making
     5     certain audits mandatory.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 1722.1, act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323,
     9  No.130), known as "The County Code," added August 27, 1963
    10  (P.L.1256, No.519), is amended to read:
    11     Section 1722.1.  Audit of Accounts of Minor Judiciary.--The
    12  controller or county auditors [may] shall annually audit the
    13  accounts of every alderman, magistrate or justice of the peace
    14  within the county and report the results of such audits to the
    15  county commissioners, the Auditor General and to the governing
    16  body of each political subdivision which is entitled or has a
    17  right to receive any moneys or funds collected by any such
    18  alderman, magistrate or justice of the peace.
    19     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
