AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 19, 1964 (P.L.7, No.1), entitled "An
2 act imposing a road tax upon certain motor carriers,
3 providing for the collection and administration thereof,
4 establishing penalties, and making an appropriation to the
5 Motor License Fund," further providing for penalties.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 21, act of June 19, 1964 (P.L.7, No.1),
9 known as the "Motor Carriers Road Tax Act," is amended to read:
10 Section 21. Penalties.--Any person wilfully violating the
11 provisions of this act, not covered by any other penalty
12 provision contained in this act, shall be guilty of a
13 [misdemeanor] summary offense and, upon conviction thereof,
14 shall be sentenced to pay a fine not exceeding [five hundred
15 dollars ($500),] one thousand dollars ($1,000), or undergo
16 imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, or both. If the
17 person convicted is a corporation, any imprisonment imposed
18 shall be served by the responsible corporate officer.
19 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
