                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), entitled
     2     "An act concerning game and other wild birds and wild
     3     animals; and amending, revising, consolidating, and changing
     4     the law relating thereto," requiring a fluorescent orange
     5     color to be worn by hunters when hunting certain animals and
     6     providing a penalty.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  The act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1225, No.316), known
    10  as "The Game Law," is amended by adding a section to read:
    11     Section 730.2.  Clothing or Material Worn While Hunting
    12  Certain Game; Penalty for Violation.--Whoever during the open
    13  season on deer, bear or woodchucks shall enter any woodlands  or
    14  fields within the Commonwealth for the purpose of hunting or
    15  assisting to hunt for the same shall wear or display in a
    16  conspicuous manner on his head, chest and back combined, a
    17  minimum of two hundred fifty square inches of clothing or
    18  material of a daylight fluorescent orange color with a dominant
    19  wave length between five hundred ninety-five and six hundred
    20  five nanometers, an excitation purity of not less than eighty-


     1  five per cent and a luminance factor of not less than forty per
     2  cent.
     3     Any person violating any provision of this section shall upon
     4  conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of twenty dollars
     5  ($20.00) and costs of prosecution.
     6     The provisions of this section shall not apply to hunters
     7  participating during a season in which only muzzle loading
     8  firearms or bows and arrows may be used.
     9     Section 2.  This act shall take effect September 1, 1977.
