AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Transportation for
2 promotion and improvement of transportation facilities and
3 service for tourists visiting American Bicentennial
4 Historical Sites.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. The sum of $4,500,000, or as much thereof as may
8 be necessary, is hereby appropriated to the Department of
9 Transportation for promotion and improvement of transportation
10 facilities and service in order to restrain congestion and
11 enhance mobility for tourists visiting historical sites
12 associated with the American Bicentennial.
13 Section 2. The funds herein appropriated may be utilized
14 for, but not limited to, preparation, promotion and distribution
15 of transportation brochures, family pass subsidies, increasing
16 passenger train, trolley and bus service, construction of
17 parking areas, acquisition and erection of an aerial cable car
18 or other device to bridge the Schuylkill River at Valley Forge,
19 acquisition and/or rehabilitation of rolling stock and buses,
1 and renovation of the train station at Valley Forge State Park.
2 Section 3. Whatsoever of the amount herein appropriated is
3 unexpended or unencumbered as of July 1, 1976, shall lapse.
4 Section 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
