           HOPKINS, MANMILLER, WAGNER, SHELHAMER, MRKONIC AND

                     In the House of Representatives, September 24, 1975

     1     WHEREAS, The Federal Communications Commission has been
     2  charged by the Congress of the United States with the
     3  responsibility of licensing, observing and regulating the public
     4  broadcasting industry in the United States; and
     5     WHEREAS, The Columbia Broadcasting System has flagrantly
     6  violated the spirit of the rules and regulations of a
     7  responsible public broadcasting company by presenting a
     8  misleading, biased and connived production entitled "The Guns of
     9  Autumn"; and
    10     WHEREAS, The excessive liberties taken by the Columbia
    11  Broadcasting System threaten the entire broadcasting industry
    12  with tightened regulations and restrictions; therefore be it
    13     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
    14  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania demand that the Federal
    15  Communications Commission investigate the production, editing
    16  and broadcasting of the documentary entitled, "The Guns of

     1  Autumn"; and be it further
     2     RESOLVED, That the Federal Communications Commission order
     3  the Columbia Broadcasting System to furnish interested parties
     4  equal time at the same time slots in which said documentary was
     5  broadcast to rebut the presentations, inferences and
     6  inaccuracies presented by the Columbia Broadcasting System.
