                        In the House of Representatives, August 15, 1975

     1     WHEREAS, Representative Leonard E. Sweeney was tried before
     2  the United States District Court for the Western District of
     3  Pennsylvania for felony violations of Title 18, United States
     4  Code, Section 1341; and
     5     WHEREAS, Sentence pursuant to a finding of guilty was imposed
     6  by the court on July 30, 1975; therefore be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
     8  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, pursuant to Article II, section
     9  11, of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
    10  does hereby expel Leonard E. Sweeney as a member of the House of
    11  Representatives and declares that a vacancy in the 17th
    12  legislative district now exists; and be it further
    13     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
    14  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania petitions and directs the Speaker

     1  of the House of Representatives to issue a writ for a special
     2  election to fill said vacancy, pursuant to section 628 of the
     3  act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the
     4  "Pennsylvania Election Code."
