                           In the House of Representatives, July 2, 1975

     1     WHEREAS, The world's invisible shield against skin cancer may
     2  be damaged by fluorocarbon propellants used in aerosol cans; and
     3     WHEREAS, Depletion of ozone in the stratosphere which filters
     4  out much of the ultraviolet radiation from the sun, will cause
     5  increases in human skin cancer as well as possible harm to
     6  plants, animals, and the environment; and
     7     WHEREAS, The Federal Interagency Task Force on Inadvertent
     8  Modification of the Stratosphere has concluded that there is
     9  reason for serious concern over the use of fluorocarbon
    10  propellants which are suspected of working their way into the
    11  stratosphere and depleting the ozone layer; therefore be it
    12     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
    13  Commonwealth of Pennsylvania urge the Federal Interagency Task
    14  Force on Inadvertent Modification of the Stratosphere to
    15  continue to study the possible ill effects of fluorocarbon
    16  propellants on the atmosphere and on human well being; and be it

     2     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
     3  the President of the United States, the Federal Interagency Task
     4  Force on Inadvertent Modification of the Stratosphere and to
     5  each Senator and Representative from Pennsylvania in the
     6  Congress of the United States.
