                       In the House of Representatives, February 5, 1975

     1     WHEREAS, The Federal Interstate Highway System is nearing
     2  completion in Pennsylvania; and
     3     WHEREAS, One of the conditions for obtaining the Interstate
     4  Highway System requires the Commonwealth to maintain this
     5  highway system; and
     6     WHEREAS, The costs of maintenance have risen to new heights;
     7  therefore be it
     8     RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly
     9  of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize the Congress of
    10  the United States to enact legislation which would reduce this
    11  onerous burden of maintenance costs on all the states through
    12  which the Interstate Highway System extends; and be it further
    13     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
    14  the presiding officers of each House of the Congress of the
    15  United States and to each Senator and Representative from
    16  Pennsylvania in the Congress of the United States.
