                       In the House of Representatives, January 28, 1975

     1     RESOLVED, That the first and seventh paragraphs of Rule 50 of
     2  the House of Representatives be amended to read:
     3                              RULE 50
     4                          Public Hearings
     5     Each Standing Committee, Sub-committee or Select Committee to
     6  which a proposed bill, resolution or any matter is referred
     7  shall have full power and authority to study said bill,
     8  resolution or other matter before it, as such committee, shall
     9  determine is necessary to enable it to report properly to the
    10  House thereon. To this end, a Standing Committee, Sub-committee
    11  or Select Committee may [as hereinafter provided], by a majority
    12  vote of its members, conduct public hearings at the Capitol. No
    13  Standing Committee, Sub-committee or Select Committee shall hold
    14  any public hearings away from the Capitol without prior approval
    15  by a majority vote of the members of the Standing Committee,
    16  Sub-committee or Select Committee and the leadership of the

     1  Majority Party of the House.

     3     Proceedings of all public hearings shall be either
     4  stenographically recorded and transcribed or electronically
     5  recorded and said records shall be open for examination to any
     6  member of the House or the public.
