AN ACT
1 Regulating the election of persons appointed to fill vacancies
2 in elective offices of political subdivisions.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The term of all persons appointed to fill
6 vacancies in elective offices in political subdivisions shall
7 terminate on the next primary, municipal or general election
8 held more than one month following the date the vacancy occurred
9 or, if the office is to be filled for a full term at the next
10 election, the appointment shall terminate at the end of the
11 unexpired term.
12 Section 2. This act shall apply to all persons appointed to
13 fill vacancies occurring after the general election held in
14 November, 1976.
15 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
