                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes changing the penalties for theft of
     3     services AND THE PASSING OF BAD CHECKS.                        <--

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 3926 of Title 18, act of November 25,
     7  1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     8  Statutes, added December 6, 1972 (P.L.1482, No.334), is amended
     9  by adding a subsection to read:
    10  § 3926.  Theft of services.

    12     (c)  Summary grading.--
    13         (1)  Any person committing the offense of theft of
    14     services when the value of such services is less than $50 is
    15     guilty of a summary offense.
    16         (2)  Theft of services when the amount involved is more
    17     than $50 shall otherwise be controlled by § 3903 (relating to
    18     grading of theft offenses).


     1     SECTION 2.  SUBSECTION (C) OF SECTION 4105 OF THE ACT, ADDED   <--
     2  DECEMBER 6, 1972 (P.L.1482, NO.334), IS AMENDED TO READ:
     3  § 4105.  BAD CHECKS.

     5     (C)  GRADING.--AN OFFENSE UNDER THIS SECTION IS A MISDEMEANOR
     6  OF THE SECOND DEGREE IF THE AMOUNT OF THE CHECK OR ORDER EXCEEDS
     7  [$200] $1000; OTHERWISE IT IS A SUMMARY OFFENSE.
     8     Section 2 3.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.           <--
