AN ACT 1 Amending the act of June 2, 1915 (P.L.736, No.338), entitled, as 2 amended, "An act defining the liability of an employer to pay 3 damages for injuries received by an employe in the course of 4 employment; establishing an elective schedule of 5 compensation; providing procedure for the determination of 6 liability and compensation thereunder; and prescribing 7 penalties," eliminating the waiting period for payments. 8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 9 hereby enacts as follows: 10 Section 1. Clauses (a) and (e) of section 306, act of June 11 2, 1915 (P.L.736, No.338), known as "The Pennsylvania Workmen's 12 Compensation Act," reenacted and amended June 21, 1939 (P.L.520, 13 No.281), and amended December 5, 1974 (P.L.782, No.263), are 14 amended to read: 15 Section 306. The following schedule of compensation is 16 hereby established: 17 (a) For total disability, sixty-six and two-thirds per 18 centum of the wages of the injured employe as defined in section 19 three hundred and nine beginning [after the seventh] on the 20 first day of total disability and payable for the duration of
1 total disability, but the compensation shall not be more than 2 the maximum compensation payable nor less than fifty per centum 3 of the Statewide average weekly wage. If at the time of injury, 4 the employe receives wages equal to or less than fifty per 5 centum of the Statewide average weekly wage, then he shall 6 receive ninety per centum of his average weekly wage as 7 compensation, but in no event less than thirty-three and one- 8 third per centum of the maximum weekly compensation payable. 9 Nothing in this clause shall require payment of compensation 10 after disability shall cease. 11 * * * 12 [(e) No compensation shall be allowed for the first seven 13 days after disability begins, except as provided in this clause 14 (e) and clause (f) of this section. If the period of disability 15 lasts fourteen days or more, the employe shall also receive 16 compensation for the first seven days of disability.] 17 * * * 18 Section 2.
