                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, adding certain offenses relating to
     3     firearms and explosives.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Chapter 61 of Title 18, act of November 25, 1970
     7  (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     8  Statutes, added December 6, 1972 (P.L.1482, No.334), is amended
     9  by adding a subchapter to read:

    16  6181.  Possession of firearms or explosives within a vehicle.
    17  § 6181.  Possession of firearms or explosives within a vehicle.
    18     (a)  Offenses defined.--


     1         (1)  A person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second
     2     degree if he shall unlawfully possess or keep any firearm or
     3     explosive device, whether loaded or unloaded, within the
     4     interior of any vehicle unless properly licensed to do so.
     5         (2)  A person is guilty of a felony of the third degree
     6     if he uses such a firearm or explosive device in connection
     7     with recklessly endangering another person or property, or
     8     harassment of any person or disorderly conduct.
     9         (3)  A person is guilty of a felony of the second degree
    10     if he is responsible for the firing, discharge or explosion
    11     of such a firearm or explosive device in connection with
    12     recklessly endangering another person or property, or
    13     harassment of any person or disorderly conduct.
    14     (b)  Exception.--This section shall not apply to firearms
    15  inside the trunk compartment of a vehicle or such other location
    16  as provided for in the Game Laws of the Commonwealth of
    17  Pennsylvania for the purposes of hunting.
    18     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
