AN ACT 1 Amending the act of May 25, 1933 (P.L.1050, No.242), entitled 2 "An act creating and establishing a fund for the care, 3 maintenance, and relief of aged, retired and disabled 4 employes of the bureau of fire in cities of the second class; 5 creating a board for the management thereof; providing the 6 mode and manner of payment to beneficiaries, and for the care 7 and disposition of its funds; and providing for the transfer 8 and payment of all moneys and securities in existing funds in 9 similar boards superseded by the fund and board herein 10 created," further providing for eligibility for pension. 11 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 12 hereby enacts as follows: 13 Section 1. The act of May 25, 1933 (P.L.1050, No.242), 14 referred to as the Second Class City Firemen Relief Law, is 15 amended by adding sections to read: 16 Section 12.6. Any person who shall, after the effective date 17 of this act, be employed by the bureau of fire of the city, and 18 who shall become a member of the fund and who, after twenty or 19 more years service and before attaining the age of fifty years, 20 shall be separated from the service by reason of no cause or act 21 of his or her own, if such member continues to contribute to the 22 pension fund monthly a sum equal to the last monthly
1 contribution paid while in employ, such former employe shall, 2 when he or she reaches the age of fifty years, be eligible to 3 receive a pension allowance. 4 Section 12.7. Any person who shall, after the effective date 5 of this act, be employed by the bureau of fire of the city and 6 who shall become a member of the fund, and who, after twenty or 7 more years service, retires voluntarily before reaching the age 8 of fifty years, shall pay into the pension fund monthly a sum 9 equal to the last monthly contribution paid while in the service 10 until he or she reaches the age of fifty years, when such former 11 employe shall be eligible to receive a pension allowance. 12 Section 2.
