AN ACT
1 Amending the act of June 1, 1945 (P.L.1242, No.428), entitled
2 "An act relating to roads, streets, highways and bridges;
3 amending, revising, consolidating and changing the laws
4 administered by the Secretary of Highways and by the
5 Department of Highways relating thereto," requiring the
6 acquisition and maintenance of bridges crossing railroads.
7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
8 hereby enacts as follows:
9 Section 1. Article VII of the act of June 1, 1945 (P.L.1242,
10 No.428), known as the "State Highway Law," is amended by adding
11 a subdivision to read:

15 (g) Acquisition and Maintenance of Bridges Over Railroads
16 Section 790. Acquisition and Maintenance of Bridges Over
17 Railroads.--The department shall acquire and thereafter maintain
18 all bridges crossing railroads whether or not they are located
19 on State highways.
20 Section 2. This act shall take effect January 1, 1976.
