AN ACT 1 Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania 2 Consolidated Statutes, relating to false alarms to agencies 3 of public safety. 4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 5 hereby enacts as follows: 6 Section 1. Section 4905 of Title 18, act of November 25, 7 1970 (P.L.707, No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated 8 Statutes, added December 6, 1972 (P.L.1482, No.334), is amended 9 to read: 10 § 4905. False alarms to agencies of public safety. 11 A person who knowingly causes a false alarm of fire or other 12 emergency to be transmitted to or within any organization, 13 official or volunteer, for dealing with emergencies involving 14 danger to life or property commits a misdemeanor of the first 15 degree. Such person commits a felony of the third degree 16 whenever IF a false alarm of fire OR OTHER EMERGENCY KNOWINGLY <-- 17 transmitted by him results in an accident, injury TO ANY PERSON, <--
1 damage TO ANY PROPERTY, fatality, or ANY OTHER loss, or whenever <-- 2 IF the organization in the act of responding to the false alarm <-- 3 receives a call to extinguish a fire at another location. IS <-- 4 CALLED UPON TO RESPOND TO ANOTHER FIRE OR EMERGENCY WHETHER REAL 5 OR FALSE, OR IF A FALSE ALARM OF FIRE OR OTHER EMERGENCY IS 6 TRANSMITTED TO OR WITHIN MORE THAN ONE SUCH ORGANIZATION 7 CONCURRENTLY. 8 Section 2.
