                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of July 8, 1919 (P.L.782, No.319), entitled, as
     2     amended, "An act providing that clerks, appraisers,
     3     investigators and other persons assisting the registers of
     4     wills in the collection of inheritance taxes, in all counties
     5     shall be appointed and their compensation fixed by the
     6     Secretary of Revenue; and prescribing the method of their
     7     payment and that of other expenses incident to the collection
     8     of said taxes, including cost of registers' bonds," providing
     9     for the payment of compensation and expenses by the
    10     Department of Revenue.

    11     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    12  hereby enacts as follows:
    13     Section 1.  Section 1, act of July 8, 1919 (P.L.782, No.319),
    14  entitled, as amended, "An act providing that clerks, appraisers,
    15  investigators and other persons assisting the registers of wills
    16  in the collection of inheritance taxes, in all counties shall be
    17  appointed and their compensation fixed by the Secretary of
    18  Revenue; and prescribing the method of their payment and that of
    19  other expenses incident to the collection of said taxes,
    20  including cost of registers' bonds," amended May 23, 1945
    21  (P.L.866, No.354), is amended to read:


     1     Section 1.  Be it enacted, &c., That all clerks, appraisers,
     2  investigators and other persons required to assist any register
     3  of wills, in any county of the Commonwealth, in collecting and
     4  paying over inheritance taxes shall be appointed and their
     5  compensation fixed by the Secretary of Revenue, and, upon his
     6  approval and order, shall be paid out of the said taxes [in the
     7  hands of the registers] by the Department of Revenue, together
     8  with other necessary expenses incident to the collection of such
     9  taxes, including the payment of the cost of the premium on bonds
    10  filed by registers with the Department of Revenue.
    11     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1975.
