                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58, No.32), entitled "An
     2     act consolidating and revising the Vehicle Code, the Tractor
     3     Code, the Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Act and
     4     other acts relating to the ownership, possession and use of
     5     vehicles and tractors," further providing for motor vehicle
     6     messenger services.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Subsection (b) of section 1308, act of April 29,
    10  1959 (P.L.58, No.32), known as "The Vehicle Code," added
    11  December 10, 1974 (No.299), is amended to read:
    12     Section 1308.  Messenger Service.--

    14     (b)  Every person who provides such motor vehicle messenger
    15  service for the public generally shall make application for
    16  registration therefor with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles of the
    17  department on a form furnished by it, together with a
    18  registration fee of [fifty dollars ($50.00)] twenty-five dollars
    19  ($25.00) and a bond indemnifying him in the amount of [twenty-
    20  five thousand dollars ($25,000.00)] five thousand dollars


     1  ($5,000.00). Upon approval of his application and bond, the
     2  department shall register the applicant as an approved messenger
     3  service and furnish him with a certificate of registration. The
     4  registration shall be renewable annually for a fee of [fifty
     5  dollars ($50.00)] twenty-five dollars ($25.00) and with the
     6  furnishing of the [twenty-five thousand dollar ($25,000.00)]
     7  five thousand dollar ($5,000.00) indemnity bond approved by the
     8  department. For each additional place of business or branch
     9  office the applicant shall pay an additional initial and annual
    10  renewal registration fee of twenty-five dollars ($25,00) but
    11  shall not be required to furnish additional bond.
