AN ACT
1 Making an appropriation to the Department of Health for the
2 expansion of dental care services to handicapped children.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The sum of $1,500,000, or as much thereof as may
6 be necessary, is hereby appropriated specifically to the
7 Department of Health for the provision of dental treatment for
8 handicapped children who are not able to obtain dental care,
9 even though care for their physical disabilities is available.
10 Section 2. The appropriation under this act shall not
11 replace presently available funds in the dentofacial or cleft
12 palate program funds, and medical assistance payments.
13 Section 3. The Division of Dental Health shall utilize such
14 dental insurance and other resources as are available prior to
15 any implementation of this appropriated fund, or portions of
16 this fund, and the Division of Dental Health shall monitor this
17 program to insure excellent dental care is provided with the
18 funds appropriated by this act.
1 Section 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
